If you are into high stress real world situations played out in the movies, where the outcome can and does have an effect on your life, then you should really enjoy the movie Puncture. Starring in it is Chris Evans, who plays an attorney, whose name is Mike Weiss. The other star also happens to be one of the co-directors, and his name is Mark Kassen, and he plays another lawyer, called Paul Danziger.
How these two ever became real life legal partners, is another movie that could be made. Because, never where there two people so different, and had no business even knowing each other, much less being in a business relationship together. Paul Danziger is a bright young attorney that does everything by the book, who is extremely organized and reliable.
Mike Weiss, on the other hand, is a drug addict addicted to cocaine that should have been in a hospital trying to recover, and not participating in the biggest legal case he will ever be associated with. Chris Evans who plays Mike Weiss, is also starring in the soon to be released Captain America blockbuster.
The movie is based on an actual legal case brought by Jeffrey Dancort. He was an inventor, who created a new and much safer syringe. When he tried to sell it to the hospitals is when all of the trouble began, and what started the court case.
This legal battle affected every single American citizen, and its outcome changed how we receive medical care. We are not going to get into the details of the case here, you will need to see the movie, but we will state that you will certainly be on the edge of your seat when some of the facts are revealed.
Once you hear what was going on at the time, you will have a hard time believing that this could have ever happened in America. Most of us think of the United States as having an ethical business community, which tries to do business the right way.
After all, the company with the best product or service, should be the firm that you do business with, right? That was certainly not the case then, and thankfully this legal battle revealed it, and changed it forever.
The movie also goes into great detail illuminating the inner relationship of the legal partners involved in the case. Since they are quite different people, with totally opposite beliefs, work traits, and morals. These parts of the film has some extremely riveting and unbelievable scenes.
The Puncture movie gets right to the root of how people deal with each other, and why selecting the proper person to go into business with, is extremely important. The legal fight is something that all movie fans who enjoy courtroom drama should not miss. It really reveals some of the dirty underhanded tricks that lawyers will use just to win a case. It might not be the best movie every based on an actual legal battle, but none the less, it is a fine film.
