The Puncture Movie is real life presentation of a legal case that changed America's medical structure forever. The legal aspects of the movie were comprehensively researched, and do an excellent job of explaining the facts in the case. The movie stars Chris Evans who plays attorney Mike Weiss.
If you do get a chance to see him in Puncture the movie, you will easily notice his exceptional acting skills, since he portrays a completely different character from all of the other films you have seen him in. In this movie, he is a drug crazed junkie, strung out on cocaine that sometimes does not think or act rationally.
His legal partner in the move is Paul Danziger, who is played by Mark Kassen, who also co-directs the movie with his brother, Adam. His character is what you would expect a lawyer to be like in real life. He is a very organized individual that deeply cares about the case.
The legal case was brought to the courts by an individual named Jeffrey Dancort, who invented a revolutionary new syringe. In the 1990's the world was scared to death of AIDs and the HIV virus. In fact, there were many instances where either a doctor or nurse was injecting a patient, and they accidentally nicked themselves with the needle, and contracted the deadly diseases.
This new needle prevented that from happening, and the doctors and nurses that tried it out, were very impressed with it, and wanted to start using it immediately. However, when the inventor tried to sell it to the hospitals, he was stopped dead in his tracks by an association called the Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). This firm only represented the major companies in the pharmaceutical industry, and was able to prevent any other company from selling anything to the hospitals.
This of course, was highly unethical as well as being illegal. They were preventing Americans from having access to the best medical care possible, while at the same time drastically increasing the cost for all of the countries citizens.
Now, that you know a little bit about the movie, you must be wondering if it is worth seeing, or not. If you enjoying seeing people that obviously have very different ways of thinking about virtually everything there is in life, being forced to deal and interact with each other at the very highest levels, you will truly appreciate this film.
If you are a fan of one that really doesn't have much of a chance at all of winning, then this might be the best movie to check out. The Puncture Movie is not for the people that like car chases and wild shootouts. It is for the type of person that enjoys a highly intellectual drama, which delves deep into the personalities of the participants, and reveals their innermost thoughts, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
