Chris Evans is on a big time roll currently, landing the starring roles in the high flying action movie Captain America, and the extremely suspenseful legal drama, the Puncture Movie. Hopefully, both of these very different portrayals will be just what he needs to propel his career to where he wants it to be. Only time will tell if this will happen or not, but the reviews of his acting skills in the movie, Puncture, have been outstanding to date.
In the Puncture movie, Chris plays a character like nothing you have ever seen him perform previously. Many professionals in the industry thought it was a good move on his part to finally step out of his comfort zone, and play a more demanding role. He truly was able to display his versatility as an actor, and threw everything that he had into the character.
In the movie, he plays Mike Weiss, a drug crazed lunatic that happens to be a lawyer, handling the biggest case that he will ever have. His only redeeming quality as a person in the film is that he truly cares about the case, and does everything that he can do to try and win it.
Well, lets us rephrase that, he does everything he can, except stop using cocaine constantly and always being in a highly deranged state of mind. In the movie, his legal partner is Paul Danziger who is played by Mark Kassen, who also happens to be the co-director of the film with his brother, Adam.
Paul is virtually the exact opposite of Mike, both as an attorney and as a person. He is very responsible, extremely organized, and also wants to win the case extremely bad. Throughout the movie, as you would expect, there are tremendous battles between the two, which results in quite a few exceptional scenes that are worth the price of admission.
How and why, these two in real life ever thought it was a good idea to become legal partners in a law firm, is really mind boggling. If there ever were two people that should have nothing at all to do with each other, it was these two.
The Puncture movie is based on an actual legal case that affected every American. The screenwriter did an excellent job of researching and portraying what went on in the courtroom and outside of it that effected its result.
If you are one of those movie fans that love's rooting for the underdog, then this might be a film of interest for you. Many film enthusiasts today truly appreciate highly intense interpersonal relationships where there is a great deal of conflict between the characters. If you also feel the same way, there is an excellent chance that you will like the movie.
The Puncture movie does not have any car chases or wild gunfights. If you are fine with that, and like pictures based on real life events, then this movie might be at the top of your list for films that someone might go see next weekend.
